SVT cooktops have a cast-iron frame. Cast iron is a traditional material for fireplaces and wood-burning stoves due to its excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability under temperature changes.
FINISH: The cast-iron parts are coated with two-component Thermodur 600 heat-resistant paint, which withstands temperatures up to 600 °C. Ensure good ventilation during the first few firings.
CERAMIC COOKTOP: The ceramic glass used in cooktops is thicker than standard ceramic glass used on electric cooktops. It is mineralized glass with a heat resistance of up to 800 °C. Despite its high heat resistance, ceramic glass can be damaged by mechanical impact. During installation, place a heat-resistant sealing cord or gasket between the frame and the ceramic glass. The glass does not need to be mechanically fixed to the frame.
CARE: Clean the product only after it has cooled. Cast-iron parts can be wiped with a cloth lightly moistened with cooking oil. Dried dirt and food residue on the ceramic surface can be removed with a suitable ceramic-glass scraper. Then clean with a neutral detergent, rinse and dry with a clean cloth. Melted sugar, plastic and aluminium foil must be removed immediately while the surface is still warm. Do not use abrasive cleaners, oven cleaners or stain removers.
